Evan has provided INDUS with expertise in Web design and development since 2000. He’s had experience working for both private and government agencies, but says that he’s found a long-term home at INDUS.
“This is a place that I want to stay with. The culture, the people, especially our CEO—they all encourage open dialogue with everyone in the company. Everyone listens, no matter what level you are. Everyone at INDUS has an open mind to exchange knowledge.”
The INDUS culture of openness and sharing has helped Evan tackle tough tasks for customers like the Department of Education. Evan’s team was in charge of maintenance for an informational site for student loans when he noticed an issue with how the program managed change.
“Whenever an announcement needed to go out, there was the possibility that it could get lost. People would use paper, stickies on computers, the phone, email, all kinds of ways. There were just too many sources and too many requests.”
Evan took what he had learned from INDUS to devise a solution.
“I sat side by side with them to see how they were doing things. I learned the hierarchy of their organization, created definitions for each person’s position and work flow, and developed a process and method for submitting changes and announcements. They could finally see where the change requests were going! The interface we created is still in use at that office today. This was a really big thing for them—they were very happy with the project.”
