“The best part about INDUS is the atmosphere: it′s not a small company, but it feels like one. I can call everyone here by their first name…Even the president.”

In his nine years with INDUS, Phi has mostly been involved with the technical side of projects: software programming, database administration, and application maintenance are some of his strong suits. However, Phi now has a chance to experience the business aspect of IT—as a senior technical project manager.
“There have really been a ton of opportunities for me here. INDUS provided me with classes, tutoring, mentoring, and hands-on experience to help me progress. I’ve gone from a programmer to a manager because INDUS believed in my abilities. They really make it easier for me to work.”
One of the projects that stands out the most for Phi was the Geographic Information System (GIS) that he and his team developed for U.S. Border Patrol. The geospatial technology his team designed is used to analyze and track activity along the border and in ports around the United States.
“Because the GIS technology was so new, it was kind of difficult to get everyone there on board. They were pretty comfortable with their old system, and it was a challenge getting everyone to realize the true potential of the new software. My INDUS team was able to show them the benefits of the new system and make the transition as seamless as possible.”
But the most rewarding part? Knowing that his work led to critical success for the client. “There’s just something really rewarding about being able to help my customers with their mission.”
