VIENNA, Virginia (January 19, 1999) Washington Technology – INDUS Corporation. Since October 1996, INDUS Corporation has been doing an outstanding job on the Year 2000 Project. As most of us are aware, if software programs are not prepared to handle the change of date on January 1, 2000, there is a serious risk to government information systems and the programs they support. Under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Mission Oriented Systems Engineering Support Program (MOSES), as a subcontractor and protégé of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), INDUS Corporation’s Project Leader Ms. Debbie Moffett completed the Network Infrastructure Year 2000 Guidance, an addendum to the Year 2000 Guidance Document (delivered in February 1996). These guidance documents presented a six-stage approach: 1) Plan Y2K project scope; 2) Complete system inventory; 3) Conduct system assessment; 4) Repair Y2K problem; 5) Test Y2K changes; and 6) Implement modified code. Both documents are among the first of their respective kind to synthesize available information on Year 2000 issues and explore innovative approaches to solving the Year 2000 problem in EPA data applications and network infrastructure. INDUS’s success on this project is acknowledged by EPA’s Technical Manager who said that the government is very pleased with the depth of research and guidance these documents represent and how “well written” the network document is. SAIC’s Technical Project Leader also commented that “These documents are so good because Debbie Moffett performed a daunting research task, devoted herself to the technical complexities of the subject matter, and creatively organized and presented the material in a useful, attractive format.” Furthermore, EPA’s Project Officer observed that, “these two documents could end up being one of the most significant contributions to IT coming out of government in some time.” Using these guidance documents as a baseline foundation for addressing the Year 2000 problem, INDUS is now supporting the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Commerce (DOC), and the Executive Office of the President (EOP) to prepare for Year 2000 readiness.

Performance Excellence
Over the years, INDUS has been consistently recognized through multiple growth awards and industry accolades highlighting our commitment to quality performance and delivering exceptional results.
